One of our lot had an NSU quickly I've just remembered

1) Wife and I in 1980 ( the stupid chopper era )
2) 1981 Our shop was demonstrating a new and upcoming test called, emission testing.
3) This one is a real embarrassment, the trike period. It was powered by a 1961 xlch, slow as shit off the line and about 70 mph in second.

Those 3 wheelers were the most dangerous bike I've ever driven, if they weren't flipping over they were running up the back of your shin. Lots of fun to be had though !!

Yep, mine involved a badly bruised shoulder and a bunch of scrapes when I flew off the banking on an oval track, then hit a rain gulley on the backside, flipping several times. The trike didn't get hurt at all.

Sorry no photos but embarrassing moment, got overtaken by a electric milk float on my Rayleigh Runabout on a small incline. Never lived it down with my rich fizzy mates. Bugger !

Yeah , gauntlets still work for me as well ! …. Just one 2stroke in my history ‘78 KX 125 , my beer drinking friends would see it leaning on fence and ask , I always say you will fall off , non ever made out of yard without going over backwards , non riders all …. happy times

The year was 1964. The Atlas is the same I own now. The girl is long gone.

The E start was removed by some weight and speed obsessed kid (err me).

The Cooper rings were binned very early on, head modified by Dave Nourish to take sold copper jobs, which worked perfectly.

And the original barrel, where the liners were prone to dropping, was replaced with a Gilardoni nikasil plated one.

That is true.

But in faintness, the original barrels did many thousand of miles of good service before being replaced with the Gilardoni ones.

Perhaps the ultimate almost / what if / what could have been / etc kind of bike !
