Yet another reason not to visit Australia I guess....
This story reminds me of a horror story TV show (Night Gallery I think) I saw in the 1970's....where a man was slowly going crazy. Eventually it was determined that a caterpillar had eaten its way into his brain by way of his ear drum. He got worse and worse as the caterpillar slowly ate its way to the other side, where it eventually came out his other ear and looked like he'd be ok from then on. Until the biopsy report came back to show the caterpillar had laid eggs in his brain. Ending scene was him screaming in pain/terror as all the larvae began to hatch.
Makes me think there is a chance this poor woman could potentially have more of these in her body. There was report of lung/intestinal issues in the months prior. What if other larvae are still present in other tissues and eventually migrate to the brain again?
