Hurricane Lee is still a Major Category 4 storm in the Atlantic, which peaked around 165mph winds early Friday morning.

Lee continues to track northwest and will generate deadly rip currents for the Lesser Antilles, Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, Bahamas and Bermuda through the weekend.
New hurricane model predicts the of merger of all three major cells creating the largest storm the East Coast has ever seen....since when ?

In a surprising turn of events, Hurricane Lee rapidly weakened from Category 5 to Category 3 today as strong wind shear shredded the storm's core.

Many models failed to pick up on this wind shear, but it's possible the storm could restrengthen to Category 5 later this weekend as shear lightens up
