I think its the rear FOUR studs that don't match up.This is a result of the 750 growing rearward only in bore location. Otherwise you are correct, it's not a lot.

Nortons were a bit famous for not machining things squarely,
but I don't think anyone was suggesting by half an inch !
This was referring to measuring to an accuracy of half a thou...

btw, has anyone mentioned that the pistons became shorter, muchly,
to assist in not making the cylinders longer with more stroke...
