Does anyone know the what size and thread type the end of the shaft of this magneto is? I'm talking about the end that the AA unit bolts to.
Can anyone confirm that it is 3/8-20 BSF?
Thanks,
Ed

Without actually measuring my K2F, I am 99% sure it is 3/8 BSF.

Thank you Slick. I measured 3/8-20 but wasn't sure of thread form. Is there another thread form that is 3/8-20?

Ed

If it looks like BSF, measures like BSF, smells like BSF, and a BSF bolt fits it like a glove....
Why ye ask ?

There is almost always strange reasons why folks start delving into these things....

Thank you Rohan,
I didn't see your reply. I needed to be sure cause I need to order a die to chase threads.

Unless its really damaged, a triangular file will often clean up a burr mark or 2, or the starter thread. (?)

Or, a thread file has less potential to damage the threads than a die.

Thanks Slick. I've ordered from them in the past. They are good.

Thanks Rohan and Thrasher. I'll give it a try with a file first.

A little persuasion with a file did the trick. Thanks to all who replied.
