AN/Hemmings Aluminium Barrels

I never theorise about cams. I suggest the only way to find out what works is to install the cam and adjust everything systematically to suit it. If you are lucky, your motor might become quicker. I simply try to find something which has been used in the fastest bikes. In Nortons, the 650SS was good. I have my doubts about Paul Dunstall. Peter Williams obviously did a lot. I have a 2S, but I don't like the look of it. I do not want to fiddle around worrying about the ways in which it might tangle things.
It would be interesting to know who was involved in developing the Combat - car guys ?
Some people swear by Phil Irving, However the designs of both Velocettes and Vincents put people into the hands of dealers - every part is a special.

It's the same for my Nortons, Bsa, Triumph and Ossas as with the Vincents.
I have to go to the dealer, or try to make the part myself. Other than a few things such as spark plugs, tires ,drive chain and fuel lines for all of those bikes, pretty much all other parts are specific to that make.
I order Vincent parts from one of the Vincent parts dealers, Norton parts from a Norton part dealer and so on.
I can't go into Napa and get a BSA Super Rocket connecting rod or oil pump. Same with the Vincent.
