Over many years of driving, I have found that wearing trousers keeps my arse at a suitable temperature.

maybe off topic, but I am very much disliking the business 'model' by which people are expected to subscribe to 'things'. Software companies seem to have started it, but when buying e.g. breakfast cereal from a well known on line supplier, it always defaults to a subscribe to repeat purchases thing which I have to de-select before being conned into repeat orders on a regular basis.

I bought, and hence own, about 250 LP records and 600 CDs.
I'm a dinosaur but will never pay subscriber fees, especially for lower quality sound.
Bastards sucking from the hind teat!!

All this will do is create hacks you will need to load to your car's ECU to release features. So instead of BMW getting paid for seats with heating elements they will fit heating elements to all their cars and then not get paid at all. This will die out like the Car Branded GPS with annual fee for a new updated map.

You don't even need a software hack, a switch and a 12v supply wire will do fine.

While I would not like paying to use heated seats … its’s 1:00pm here now temp is -9C feels like -16C leather seats need to be heated fir my old arse 😁, both our vehicles have heated seats the Jeep has heated steering wheel which is real extra pleasure 👍

I'm sure they are already planning on a new scheme to charge subscription fees for turning on heater, AC, opening windows, using remote door locks, charging your phone, etc etc.

I been told I have a hot arse so no need for a heated seat lol, but its like everything we do or watch, play games on the computer etc etc use to be free but now if you want ads free services you got to subscribe and have you notice free to air TV are now pushing their ads/commercial's a lot sooner and they are running a lot longer throughout the shows you are watching and they are trying to push us up to pay for free TV, its starting to get very annoying every 5 minutes there is ads thrown in that run for 3 minute and you can no longer watch Utube with out ads every so many time before you watch what you want and throughout what you choose to watch, its the way things are going with everything we do in our lives now, it all adds up to greed, get as much out of us as they can.
There use to be rules for all this but those rules seem to have slowly disappeared from our lives the powers in charge are now getting kick backs to turn a blind eye to the way things have changed, if you don't want things shoved down your throat then pay up and same with manufactures throwing add on's that you have to pay for that is already set up but need to pay to use them.
I am old school and miss everything that was free or wasn't ruling our lives and in the long run we got to pay for everything that we shouldn't be paying for.

Over the air was using publicly owned radio spectrum, so the government could govern it somewhat...with cable, those were owned by the telecoms and they could do essentially what they wanted. I watch Utube on the pc where I can run an AD blocker...but when I watch directly on my "smart" tv, I must endure the ADs.

I am not giving into the bustards.

Funny I agree. I avoid anything that is a recurring cost...except AccesNorton sub that is! :)
Majority will simply pay because like the credit card they just get sucked in. Rich don't care as
the cost is tiny compared to value of their time and the smart types usually find a way around
The Rules.
I am still using ancient software that works fine. My computer is ten years old. Not a treadmill type.

Tesla is hacked with root access

So all the hidden extra's are now accessible.
