Speedo cable Ireland?

I've been putting a new speedo on my MK3, then realised the gearbox was shot, got the gearbox but stupidly did not get another speedo drive cable. I thought I had one in the garage, which I do but its off my T100 and is too short!!!

I know there are a few lads from Ireland on this forum, any chance somebody has a speedo cable I can use? I'll order a few new ones from Andover Norton but Ideally I need the cable for this weekend!!!

Here in the US there used to be universal speedometer cable kits. One cut the cable to the proper length and crimped the drive collar onto the cable.

The length and shape of the drive collar will vary with cables made for different manufactures. Compare the ends to what you know will work. If the collar is not similar the end can bind when you tighten the outer cable onto the clock.

I used GM universal speedometer cable core kits to make speedometer as well as tachometer inner cables for my '64 Panhead. They actually had a plastic drive collar that had hot melt glue in the center. After cutting to length, one heats the end and inserts it into the collar.

Other kits use the crimp on ends.

Just a small update.

Ordered cables from Andover Norton late on Tuesday.
They shipped on Weds morning & I just got them this morning!!!

I had accepted I wouldn't get them till next week.

The couriered service is not inexpensive but it really works.

So, 10 out of 10 to Andover Norton for such a speedy service.
