Norton trouble

Lighten up fellows. There are two sides to every argument. We need to respect each other’s opinions ( that’s all they are at this stage)
True Simon, the receivers/administrators/liquidators are charged with firstly finding the truth of the situation, determining the wealth in terms of bank balance and assets and then reporting back to their employee - the company (Metro Bank) that employed them. Only at that point are they able to go public, to do so before then is a breach of contract and trust.
Dannyy does have a point but he, like the rest of us will have to wait.
When an entity that I am passionate about went into administration, all sorts of claims came out the woodwork - primarily from ex employees who were being questioned by the administrators.
Probably where the report of the expensive vehicles came from
BDO - we note x vehicles are on the asset sheet - where are they located
Employee - no idea
Employee to press - BDO looking for x vehicles.....
Unfortunately SG has so many skeletons hidden away from other companies that rumour is rife

Who is disputing ownership?

Are you suggesting the administrators are just guessing how many cars were owned by norton?
It will all be in the accounts surely, and therefore easy to decide if its 4, 5 or 6?

It's hard to believe you really need to be told that!

My interest is simply that people get the facts not glorified versions of it.

What is your interest in my interest?

The press are only doing what SG did to us all for 10 years it appears, polishing turds and selling them as Diamonds mate......!!

It's all getting a bit heated over something none of us can give a definitive answer to. Undoubtedly people have lost money and weather that was a deliberate action or desperation from some one who wanted to keep a dream afloat, only time will tell. I for one admire his balls just getting the first one to market, and will continue to enjoy my flawed piece of "character engineering" unlike a lot of Forum Members who rather sensibly refused to part with their hard earned because they could see the future of Norton. I await the Tirade:D

From a page or so back.

I read it previously. But since 2016 I refuse to believe anything published either on line or in print. If it's true then we will find out in due course. In the meanwhile I own a 961 and I suggest any that don't, post on the none 961 parts of the forum or write to the Daily Mail or the Mirror or your MP and leave us Flat Earth Believers to our last rites :p

Easy to verify that article, someone find the phone number for Stuart Tiller and ask him.

Back in 2018 when i was having a first up close look at what the new Norton was about, this told me all i needed to know.

The problem is availability of parts. As crazy as it sounds, its like pulling teeth getting even simple things like gaskets.

My dad is almost (actually there) done with all of this. Zero support from Norton makes it not worth it. If a dealer struggles to get parts then what’s the use of continuing with Norton.

Simon clearly doesnt like us or appreciate us so I’m sure thats why. You guys may have better luck.

Only one man could top that of course

Hi,

What is there to acknowledge on this thread? What started off as something that may be a helpful and interesting blueprinting thread (by bushmans own admittance) for everyone has degenerated into personals, mild threats about exposing issues from 2 people, saying we wont support a customer despite 45 years of spanner usage, spotty teenagers, zero support from Norton, claiming we wont supply you parts (of course we will, you know this - Peter was an official dealer, you are not so the terms are different) and then saying its personal and I don't like you.

No one is saying you didn't help Rich, but the reality is Canada hasn't had a bike for years and the game has changed.

Bearing all this in mind why would I (or any of the staff here) want to get involved in this nonsense?

I am glad I amuse you.

If my input isn't helpful I am happy to go do something else instead rather than spend my own personal time trying to support you guys.

Simon

I have a question.
I’m seeing many many new user names on here that I never seen in the years I’ve been on here.

it seem these are the ones stirring the pot.

Simmer down, there’s nothing any of us can do anyhow. It is what it is. Nobody here is responsible for the outcome.

I don’t believe these new faces here even have a 961 or V4 bike.
I’m not saying their opinions don’t count, I’m saying if you don’t have a 961 why not take your arguments to the classic pages?

We are all Norton people here. I own an 850 Commando. I guess that doesn’t give me a right to be in this part of the forum. Sorry for you...in a number of ways.

Forum says "Modern", I must have missed the "961 Owners Only" sign on the door... does that rule apply to ex-961 owners too?

You're American so you don't understand sarcasm. Anyway, you Yanks started it, maybe Mr Dreer should have left well alone.:)(and no, this isn't an insult to you)

I think he's on about the new users that have never had an input then suddenly "appear" not yourself or other AN forum users from classic etc.

Okay...sometimes we don’t get sarcasm. I have been following the saga because of my love of the Norton brand and this all is a very sad situation. Mr. Dreer wanted to bring the brand back...he put his heart, soul and a lot of money into it. Hard to fault him for that. Maybe he shouldn’t have given it to SG.
