I don't know if it's possible, but here's a VIP perk I'd probably sign up for: an online, well-organized database of quality workshop manuals and riders manuals, preferably printable. I've found them on various sites but they're not always the best scans, or printable, and they're certainly not organized.

If someone is willing to do the hard work to create an environment of knowledge, guidance and experience, donating a few dollars to help out is the absolute least any participant should be willing to offer up, as a simple gesture of support and thanks if for no other reason.

not a noob issue & needs resolution,

might as well be having a politics discussion in the main norton commando classic forum,

good luck with that & It is a clear in your face message supported by big fish

the forum is #1 but sounds like take it or leave it abounds

for one, new folks will likely have their own views on how to go about their nortons & could care less about originality

84ok .... What do you mean when you say “not a noob issue” .... are you saying this issue will be sorted via a “seniority thing” or is your statement meant another way ? thanks for some clarification , actually I’m confused with the big fish thing too .... sorry
Craig

I don't know of any forum that is run better than this one. The amount of (mostly good) information is immeasurable.
I would pay the $.75 US per week, just for the entertainment value alone.

Thank you Jerry!

Matt has enough to do. Don't be drivein offa no cliff.

new folks want fixing up norton info pronto, period, if available, they have nothing to do with what went on prior & good bet, could care less

big fish just means ~ major players

Well , not sure about the “new folks” .... would that be anyone who has joined in last 5 yrs or so , guess it kind of a relative thing ,eh? .... I sure feel the pressure when I have a Norton issue I can’t resolve immediately , don’t you .... I sure don’t like sitting ,warming the bench when I could be out riding ... been saved from that several times from info on this forum .... that why folks join .... right ? .... like I posted earlier many years I was a non - paying member and I really don’t remember any discrimination from VIP or the more senior members .... thanks for the clarification
Craig

Oh, Wow. I was a newbie sucking information off of this site like a sponge since 2014. Then I thought,
"why don't I participate in paying for it?" It has been a godsend of information for me.
New folks wanting to fix up a Norton with quick info can reap the benefits of this forum's archives without
paying anything, and when they grow up enough to realize that what one gets back from life equates to
what one puts into it, they will pay up. Everyone gets an epiphany on their own individual schedule.

I'd be a bit leery about sharing copyrighted published manuals. That's probably a no no.

Thanks for that clarification also “84ok” ... guess I just slow on the uptake ...

The nonpayers have always been a sore spot for me, here and the Britbike forum. Some guys felt since they had hundreds of post, that was a reason not to pay. Some things never change. As for the cost, a good service manual cost that much, and has less information than this forum.

Agreed ! ... although, it did take me a decade plus before I started paying my way .... big thanks to all the VIP’s who helped carry me through my free-loading years ... and our Admin. guys who give so much of their time ...
Craig
Not worried about it. I'm just curious about human nature.
If you enjoy this Forum, pay your way, if you can.
If you cannot, pay when you can.
If you do not enjoy this Forum, why are you here?

There is no greater hypocrite than he who speaks volumes, but will not open his wallet in support of his convictions.

Personally I think there should be two tiers. Like limiting non paying members to only saying intelligent things.

Looks like they have created another class of members here!
