Triumph T140 forks to pre OIF 650 frame

I did something similar years ago and got my machinist mate to make me an extended stem nut.

Yes, I installed a 71 front end on a 68 frame using a roller bearing kit...The stem nut threaded on enough not to be a problem...I did this work for a guy and he gave me the parts, I assume it was the usual bearing kit and nothing special? I believe if the nut threads on at least half an inch ,it'll be should be ok....?

I appreciate the responses. There is at least a half an inch of the stem, that I got the threads to bite on to, so should be ok? Years ago I installed a 1971 "conical" front end, to a 1969 Triumph 650 I had. Used the same tapered roller bearings AND spacer kit. However, if memory serve me right; there was a "good three fourths of an inch" that there was threads of the lower yoke stem to "bite" on to. Maybe I'm just getting older and memory fading too though ...

Geoff, after some more research I agree. Didn't know at the time that the T150 yoke was just a bit longer.
