Hi All.
I have a P11 with a monoseat and i know it fit with two rear hooks and a front fiberglass spongue under the fuel tank.
I am starting with restoring a P11A dual seat.
The frame has a one hook at the end of the main frame tube, after the end of the oil tank.
I understand that dual seat fits in the front hook but what is the way to hold the seat on the rear?
Thank you.

Piero,
If the frame you are using has the metal hook at the main tube, it is a Ranger 750 frame. The Ranger seat has loop at the nose with a rubber grommet (like the rear of a short P11 seat). The Ranger seat, (which is essentially a late N15 seat with funky bracket underneath) clamps to the upper shock mounts.

A P11A seat has the fiberglass tongue that lays under the fuel tank and bolts to the flat steel mount which is welded onto the rear fender loop and also mounts the rear fender.

So you must be careful to use the correct frame, seat, and rear fender loop.

Hi Ron.
I understand.
Thank you.

The rear fixing of the P11A seat is a poor design. When subjected to lateral forces, the flat steel easily breaks near the welds attaching it to the fender loop. That's probably one reason why the factory fitted a different fixing to the Ranger model, because here the flat steel is essentially in compression.
