Okay, I opened the box, now I need to splain a few. Vicegrips ( mole grips for you crossponders) were used to hold threaded rod while tightening the nuts. Nothin too scientific there. Just never put them away. Black Ash stick laying across ISO mount is a substitute shock to hold swingarm while refinishing frame. Just happens to be laying there. That's pretty simple too.
I haven't ruffled any feathers so far, but lets see how this next part goes.
The blue tape, the wood blocks bolted to ISO mount bolts, and the bar stock strapped to the headstock
(I can't beleive nobody noticed the bar stock, you guys are slipping) were all part of checking frame alignment. I am fortunate. Mine is amazingly straight. I have read a bunch of posts on this forum about this subject and some make sense. Some, (in my opinion) are messed up. I don't know who posted it, so this is not a personal attack, but the idea that everything needs to align with the frame backbone is nonsense.
If the swing arm is straight (not all of them are ), then all that matters is if the headstock is true to the swingarm pivot, the upper shock mounts, and to a lesser degree the rear ISO mount. If these things are square and true, what the rest of the frame is like does not matter at all.
So load your guns, I am ready.
better to replace that crappy wheelclamp on the lift table with something more substantial.
Wheel clamp has always done the job for me, I tie the frame to the table with ratchet straps while working on bike.
What happens if you open the tilt panel door ?
I don't know what a tilt panel door is ??
My shop is always this clean. I lie sometimes.
