Hello, on this part I may or may not install on my 70 Roadster, I purchased it used and it has 2 holes drilled in the lower plate, why?

The lower fork mount on my bike currently has 1 hole drilled in it?

What is the reason these have holes in them, to mount attachments of some sort?
This part I currently consider using had 2 small allen bolts fitted in the holes, for what purpose?

Oh yea, it's part [HASHTAG]#0300025[/HASHTAG]

Steering damper

Hello, because I have steering stop concern when i go lock to lock, the forks come close or too close and hit the tank, does anybody know if i could get a steering damper to limit turning by stopping the amount of turning radius of the front end?

It would be great if could get an adjustable damper to determine turning radius, anything out there like that?

Hi David,
Is the part # actually 030026? If so, this is a bottom yoke and stem for a Dominator (Atlas etc.). You may have other issues besides fork stop if you use this yoke, such as thread type for upper stem nuts and length of column. Also, there may be an issue with fork main tube spacing.
I'm sure others more familiar with this part will advise you further.
Oh, in my opinion, I wouldn't rely on a damper to function as a fork stop.

I have had different steering dampers on a number of bikes - some OEM and some that I have retrofitted.
Anyone who has experienced a "tank slapper" understands it becomes a necessary addition to the bike.
The problem with them is they take away steering feel - it's hard to explain exactly - the bike won't self center while traveling at slow speeds.
My point is - it would be better to fabricate steering stops then to try and accomplish that with a damper - and I can't figure how that could be done anyway.
