Hi,

I have searched the forum but not found the answer to my query.

I have a 72 Roadster (204xxx Combat) and have two rear mudguards available but don't know which is correct.

Both are magnetic although one looks stainless. Both have the same profile and drillings and the cut-out for the chain guard:

No1 - has an indent near where the oil tank is about 9" long

No2 - this has no indent although on closer inspection it could have been knocked out to a round profile. Still shows some slight indent and is the one that came off the bike. This is the one that looks stainless.

Any thoughts on which is correct as I am about to get one re-chromed.

Thanks in advance,

Graham

Mine (2020xx) has a dimple the size of a silver dollar about 5" up from the bottom edge. This aligns with the big oil tank filter nut. The side across from there is cut out for the chainguard. It is chromed steel.

There are some stainless types that will attract a magnet too.

Thanks Batrider.
Both of the ones I have have the dimple you refer to but the indent I am referring to is 9" long from the front edge of the fender all along one side. What are other peoples mudguards like?
Thanks

Hi LAB,

I didn't find that thread with my search. The picture shows the same indent that one of my mudguards has so that is the one that will be going to the chromers.

Thanks for your help,

Graham
