I think I’ve just screwed up on disassembly of main bearings and seals from the crankcases of my 1972 750 combat.
On the drive side, i drove the oil seal out from the inside. And then the main bearing inwards from the outside.
And then I realised I may have screwed up.
Is there an insert into the crankcase (from the inside) that the oil seal butts up against ? If so then I think I may have driven some of it outwards with the oil seal.

I'm trying to remember how to post photos and will upload them if I can work out how

The oil seal mounts from the outside and butts against a recess in the case.

Some pics from t’internet of what it should look like...

The seal will stop at the shoulder.

The seal is hooked out once the cases are separated (on a full strip down)
The cases are heated in the oven bearing down and they will all but fall out if not a light tap on something wooden bearing down.

If that portion of the case is now broken it would not be the end of the world, you could install the new seal flush at the outside and maybe use some locking agent on the OD of it.
