I'm looking for higher handlebars for my 850. What's available for US bars now is labeled as "semi western", with about a 5.5" rise. What I had in the past had probably closer to an 8" rise, and I can't find anything close to that. Is there a "full western" style that's higher? If so, where?

I have original Western bars in my horde but found them too wide for me . Aftermarkets are likely different in my experience. Genuine seem best.

How about Hi-Rider bars? Not sure if they're available new but there should be plenty on the used market. On one of my previous 850s the PO had installed a set. Even though they didn't work for me the fellow that I traded them to, loved 'em. Going to a hi bar can get spendy as you may need longer throttle cables, switch gear wires, and brake cable or hose.

You might try Triumph Bonneville T140 US bars. They’re a lot higher than the so called ‘western bars’.

I'd like a chance to sit on a Norton with the Hi rider bars. Just to get a feel for them. Most of the rallies I've attended have Nortons that have switched to other bars.

I've got the bars that came off this bike sitting here. I'd be happy to make a trade!

I had bars like this on my original 850 that a bought in 1976. They were surprisingly comfortable. I rode with them for a couple of years before swapping them for stock US bars. I always kinda missed them but you gotta decide whether you can do that look. They are swept back a little more than the High Rider bars I think. And not as tall.

I would mail them to anybody who wanted to try them out with the understanding that I either get them back or trade for standard US bars. (Or anything else you can convince me of!)
