No, not that kind.

I changed out the brake fluid on the front brake, and installed a new MC boot kit. The bike has sat for years, and the boot had disintegrated and there was no fluid in the reservoir, so I also had to clean out the channels do de-gunk them.

After this, I now have a weepy bleed nipple - not from the threads around the nipple, but from the nipple hole itself. A drop forms overnight. I have tightened the nipple as much as I dare by hand (what should it be torqued at??) with a box end wrench, to no avail.

Would it be common to need to clean out the caliper and nipple as well?

On something that has sat for years, I would replace the seals in the calliper and give it a good clean out.

The weeping nipple is probably a bit of dirt lodged under the nipple. It might clear if you loosen the nipple and pump a bit of fluid out. But really, if it has sat for so long, a new set of seals in the calliper would be a good idea.

Clean and inspect the bleeder nipple's seat as well as the seat in the caliper. A nipple that was once over tightened can crush, the conical seat now mis aligned, unable to seal.
A sharpened pencil eraser will polish a seat.

New Nipples via Car Breakers should be at least ten cents . Likely never used .

Weeping bloody nipple...

Once in a blue moon you find the dust caps intact . Flushing a system last week , the cross hole to the center hole was completely blocked .
Chrystaline gunk . not the first time this has been observed , required a drill bit to clear - as was hard and fast .

a NEW nipple likely has NEW threads , new seat , and other new bits . Maybe even a dust cap .

Pulled it out yesterday and cleaned a bunch on the crystal amber off the nipple and the seat, and pumped out the MC to flush. The nip tip looked worn half down the face only (should have taken pic). same drop of fluid coming out the nipple hole this am.

Get a new bleed nipple. RGM do one in stainless steel an I have seen them on Ebay. My RGM one was a good fit works fine an as added bonus will not seize or rust into caliper. There stainless pistons and end caps are good to.
