I cannot believe the bidding on the Kenny Dreer VR880 currently on ebay. These prices are putting it in the domain of Manx Nortons and Vincents. Like most of them which have come up for sale recently hardly ever used. Has anyone done a decent mileage on one of these bikes? I've got about 3,000 on mine but had a fair share of problems too but have owned it less than 18 months.

Could you post the link Edward?

I assume this is it?

Currently at $26900 which equates to £15988, and the reserve isn't met.

Thanks Reggie.

Well it's not cheap I guess, but its still a LONG way from Manx or Vincent prices (in UK at least)!

But looking at it, and knowing how well they were made, and how rare they are, and looking what other 'hopped up' Norton's are offered at, I'd say it will go quite a bit higher than its current figure.

A very nice bike.

Even if you had tha kind of money to throw around.......would you buy a bike like that from a guy who can't tell the difference between composite and alloy......

And then describes the alloy tank as 'hand hammered'....

A = I haven't.
B = N/A. See A.

I always wanted a Dreer. In the late 90's, when I lived in Seattle, he would sometimes go to the VME meets on Vashon Island (sometimes ~900 bikes were there) and I remember seeing him there on one, and also a small Ducati, I think.

Do they not have a headsteady???

Ahh... further research says, "No problem".

"Iso-Max
This is truly the masterpiece of the VR880’s handling. Simply put, it works! The ISO-MAX mount, fitted between the engine plates and secured to the bottom frame tubes, gives the power-drive unit the ability to shake in the vertical plane (just like front and rear mounts) but absolutely eliminates torque flex in the lateral plane. It works so well, that the top racing style mount we have previously used has been eliminated!"

No headsteady, short leads.
