Almost missed your post before it slide off front page, but I've a big Windjammer kit in big box I think has the mounting kit included so can dig out to help next few days when I get around to it. In mean time there's plenty of references to Windjammers online and rather common fitted to Nortons so may find it before I can. I ain't going to use my kit which has lowers and saddle bags too.
I mounted a Vetter on my MK3 several years ago. I think the mount I had was for a Honda 750, but I modified it to fit the Norton. The pictures don't show most of the mount details, but they might help a little. I took it off after a few rides. It's not a light fairing, and the bike didn't handle as well with it hanging up there in front. I've know a couple other folks to fit them to Commandos and liked them, so maybe it was just me. I did fit a light weight plexi windscreen later, but eventually stole it for another bike. I think I just enjoy the feeling of the bike more in an open configuration. If I did a lot of high speed freeway riding, I'd probably feel different, but I don't.
Thank you one and all.
Just to fill in the gaps - My commando is currently cafe-ish but i can only comfortably fold onto it for shorter rides (6'2" and prematurely ageing ) so a more upright riding position is in my near future.
With that in mind i picked up a Windjammer IV (integral indicators) off a local auction site but it came as advertised without a mounting bracket.
Motoalchemist if you are saying you may have a spare i would be happy to discuss a price.
Iain, ignore the nay sayer's as its like stating what would Marlyn Monroe be w/o all her blonde hair, why the sexiest bald headed woman in the world with a hat on.
Its stopped raining to make it to shed and I'm not going to Barbers event so later will dig out the Vetter mounts and photo and measure for you.
