Hi I was wondering if you can adjust these instruments by changing the magnet position like - or as per the Smith instruments? (the little screw). My Speedo is out by about 8 MPH too slow according to my GPS speed comparison. Odometer is spot on.
Edit: I should have said too fast showing on the clock as to the real speed while traveling.
Cheers,
Thomas

No, all plastic inside.
Except the magnet an needle drive disc.
Will send a pic to show you.
I have an open instrument in the basement somewhere

Here are the pics:

I can find no adjustment screw or whatsoever.

I retrofitted a Veglia onto my ‘74 Roadster, because, no trip meter is just a big PITA. It is SPOT ON compared with my GPS & roadside radar. Better than any car or bike I’ve had. Go figure.

Is it genuine or repro?

My reason for asking is that I have a T140 with repro Veglias and, much to my surprise, they are really good! The speedo is accurate to my car and both have very steady needles.

Original Veglias I’ve had in the past used to wave around so much that accuracy was a moot point !

Thanks Rivera,
Did you try disassembly any further? The two screws that hold the plastic to the pot metal lump?
I discovered that the odometer and trip meter are accurate. Both my Speed and Tach are showing higher than what they should be showing. I found out about the speed with my GPS and my rpm with my Harmonizer Electronic Carb Balancer which measures pulses through vacuum.
When I roll my odometer over to zeros again I think I will change them both to Smith clocks.
cheers,
Thomas

Thomas,
when you change to Smiths instrument be aware the Veglia housings (right) are about 13mm taller than the Smiths ones (left). So you have to look for different (earlier) cups for the meters or you shorten your cups.

And your whish is my command:
I unscrewed the two screws holding the odometer and tripmeter assembly and the needle shaft. You can see the magnet on the bottom metal part
and the disc that moves the needle in the plastic part.

The needle shaft with disc and return spring is fixed by this pressed on washer, maybe an adjustment
can be made here by lowering or lifting the needle shaft in comparison to the magnet so it turns nearer or farer from the needle disc.

The deeper (black) cases were fitted '73-on and house both Smiths and Veglia instruments.

The Smiths instruments simply require the 06-1281 pillar screw extenders:

vielen Dank, sehr nett von Ihnen

Yes and as L.A.B. stated the 06.1281 stand off contact breaker fixing screws were used when the Black clock housings were introduced using Smith clocks.
Cheers,
Thomas

Molybdenum disulfide grease in the drive and in the cable makes them smooth as buttuh...
