What valve spring compressors do you guys like? The one for my 350 chevy is a bit too large.

Pretty sure I have this one, tools not to hand just now so I cannot check.

I have one like that it as about cheapest on EBay. It does flex a little but does the job an fits a range of heads. I have bigger stronger ones for car engines but i only use all of them together maybe ten times in thirty years so don't really see point of spending big money on one that next time you use it on something different may not fit anyway.
So with that in mind like i say its cheap an nasty but does the job.

Hi

I have stripped & rebuit two race heads & when I went to use it again this time I found it was bent. Cheap enough might try & weld in an angle support bracket once I have straightened it again & checked it will clear the head. Then again I might just bin it.

Mine is bent a little but still worked due to the fit or lack of it. Hopefully it will be a long time before I need to worry about it.

Buy a cheap and nasty one and when it lets go you might loose an eye. Or just the collets, collar, spring etc

I still use the forked C clamp one that I bought in 1964. The secret is to apply pressure then a rap with a hammer to break the collets free. If you wind it in until it breaks free then I think most will bend.
