Who should be included for the ultimate 20th Century road race? My selections
Kenny Roberts , Barry Sheene , Dick Mann , Mike Hailwood , Agostini , Phil Read , Bill Ivy

To me "Road race" implies closed road racing such as the TT, Southern 100, NW 200 etc. so my list Dunlop, Hailwood, Ago, McGuinness, Hizzy, Foggy, Bruce Anstey, Ian Hutchinson.

Circuit (track racing) Rossi, Lorenzo, Hailwood, Ago, Read, Foggy, Roberts (both) Lawson, Freddie, Sheene, MacKenzie, Nixon, Aldana, Mann

Because I’ve been reading a lot about Italian race culture lately – and because we get to watch this race (right?) – I’ll nominate a few highly competitive (Italian) racers just to see what happens: Renzo Passolini (Aermacchi / Benelli), who beat Ago a couple of times in the early 60’s, and Tazio Nuvolari (Bianchi), who became, maybe, the greatest race car driver ever – who started on bikes, wining Euro and national Grand Prix.

Badasses, and seemingly fearless (like some of the others mentioned here.)
