UK pot holes - a neat trick to check the council lies.

I have a claim going through my local council for damage caused by a pot hole that my wife hit when swerving to miss a gang of lycra loonies (if I rode my Norton to work like they ride their cycles I would be arrested) They have pulled the usual legal reply saying that the road is annually inspected and I can't challenge the inspection periodicity. etc etc. So what to do, check Google maps.

The reply sent does challenge the road inspection in that the persons responsible have not conducted the inspection and have falsified council documentation.

The road was starting to fail in 2011, shows no repairs since 2011 in the photos I took May this year that could have subsequently failed, and I also found out that if you close the Google maps side bar on the left side a small box appears which you can move the cursor to previous image captures of the section of highway, it did not look much better in 2009.

I bet they still try and deny it, if they do then it is to the small claims court for them.

With the amount of unfilled potholes on some of the Queens highways, it might surprise some of you that is sometimes the ONLY way to ride! Footnote, I noticed that the Long Drive from Winsor Castle and The Mall always appear to be pot hole free, which is quite a feat considering Her Majesty doesn’t pay ANY road fund tax on her official RR

I'm on about not stopping at red light, then riding up the drop kerb for the pedestrian crossing and shooting over the pedestrian crossing on the road from the left to get over the junction. Ignoring one way systems is another common one, often seen in Winchester, mind you no chance of getting hit, it is usually wedged with traffic!

Local council has spent millions on dedicated cycle lanes, do they use them, no they do not, they prefer to use the road alongside.
