Ok, I know it's not a choke but an enrichment device. I can't for the life of me remember if the cable has to be slackened or tightened to put the "choke" on. It's not my bike btw, and they are Mark 2 Amals not 1 and the enrichment lever is at the bars not on the carbs.
TIA

Cable slack = choke OFF (plungers down and sealing off the cold start circuit)

Cable tight = choke ON (plungers lifted, opening up the cold start circuit).

Basicaly it’s opposite to, and much better than, the mk1 set up.

Anyway… why are you playing around with ‘my’ bike…?

Thanks Nigel.
It's going back to Mark's lad, James, as he has at last finished the shed for it.
He's done his bike theory again as it had run out but as yet has not been on two wheels. He's nearly a fully fledged paramedic so it remains to be seen if he will ever ride. I've told him whatever he decides to do make sure to change the tyres as they are still the same ones you fitted!

Cool, hope James enjoys it, good link to have with is ole man too.

Tell him I’m sorry I junked the electric leg !

And yes, those tyres will be getting on for 20 years old soon…
