Has anyone take their Commando across the Trans Lab ? Has anyone taken any bike across there ?

A friend and I are thinking about a road trip this summer and he is into 'adventure biking' a little and suggested visiting Labrador and Newfoundland. It could be a good trip, but I'd hate to be stuck by the side of the road with a busted frame or something...

Flew over Labrador last spring. Pure frozen lakes and snow and wilderness. I would not take a Norton into that. Swirling images of giant mosquito clouds, moose standing on the road and big brook trouts raced through my mind whilst looking out of window at 35,000 ft. alt.
 
About 10 years ago, Steve Snoen rode his 850 Interstate from Vancouver to Newfoundland across Canada and then followed it up with a trip up the Alaska pipeline road to Prudhoe. Also won an Iron Butt award for a 24 hours lung distance circuit in the States, where he evern changed out a primary belt by the side of the road and still made the qualifying time. He's documented his travels on a website somewhere, interesting and brave man.
