Have to replace the timing side idler gear pin,has a hole on shaft and 2 slots on end. Which way does the hole go- up or down?
Thanks
Doug

All of the cases I have, have the hole down (at the under side)

Oil splash must find its way into the cavity (via the hole in the cover, upper side of the pin support) at the end of the pin and bore in the T/S cover, flows into the end of the pin and down through the pin hole.
