Installing new throttle and clutch cables. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Apparently the routing of the clutch cable is critical. I suggest doing a search for it.

The most important advice? DON’T RUSH IT!

Take your time and be prepared to conduct ‘trial and error’ possibly re routing several times until you’re happy.

Routing depends on choice of handle bars and other such factors, so there’s no ‘one best way’.

You want minimal use of cable ties etc. Ideally none. If they need holding out of the way of something then lose cable ties that don’t hinder cable operation are good.

You want gradual bends. Avoid tight bends completely.

Lubrication is a matter of personal choice and cable material. Personally, I use Venhill Featherlight cables and have used WD40 on them for years, although I’m now trying WD40 dry film lubricant instead which seems good so far.

New carb cables installed. Not sure about adjustments or routing at the handlebar end. Cables very loose.

I've found you need to route the cables through the head steady bracket and not around it.
