Serious answers only please!

Preferably, things that are safe... and legal.

Gonna be spending some time there...

Hey mate, just watch yer back and if possible carry a weapon... Why are you going there anyway?
I dont think its as dangerous as it was a few years ago. Watch the movie called Sicario

Cheers

Thanks Jerry.

It doesn't seem as bad as the movie.

I'm there due to work, its not a long term thing, thankfully.

Since you only want serious answers, I can't help much. I entered the Army in bordering El Paso and we often went there on weekends. A wild place.

I'll never forget that when I was there in the 60's a room was $2 and a room with a girl was $4. Of course I didn't indulge.

And that's probably why I was told last week that US service personnel are no longer allowed to 'visit' Juarez in their R&R time...!

We had a plant there (well the remains of the Co. is still there). The bars always seemed dodgy (the ones the Mexican guys liked to visit) and none of our US guys lived there. It was a 2hr trip each way across the border to El P. just to go to work.
Steve McQueen died there as you probably know but I never did find his last dwelling location. Enjoy.

What company was / is that Keith?

Fasco Motors originally, later Von Weise gearmotors after the Fasco AC business was sold off to Beloit. Sad times but that's life. Who are you working with?

I'm here with Mahle after they bought the Thermal Dynamics division from Delphi last year.

I was nearby at the Ford engine plant around 15 years ago too.

People have a good work ethic here, they're good to work with.

Would this be the same Delphi that produced GM parts?

I have a milling machine that came from a Delphi plant near Milwaukee. The plant closed in 2008 with the big financial downturn.

GM, also Ford, Chrysler, Toyota and Honda!

Radiators, condensers, HVAC systems and cooling system 'packages' are produced there.

They have very large furnace brazing operations, interesting to view these in light of recent cam follower discussions on here!

Ok, I have learnt that its just easier to cross the border into El Paso for some weekend R&R.

This weekend, myself and a coupe of work buddies hired 3 Harley Street Glides.

That has now caused me stress ref my other post regarding new bikes... I got to liking the Harley ... !!

That sounds like it. A few years ago I drove from San Antonio to El Paso and back. Scenery Ok for a while then it got boring. Would have been better on two wheels. Enjoy.

San Antonio to El Paso is halfway to Los Angeles! Have you been to the Kntuckey Bar in Juarez yet?

I'm a married man ...

Can't say too much on a public forum about 'exotic' bars I may or may not have frequented ...
