I finally got the 1975 Commando MKIII that I bought a few weeks ago running again. She hadn't run for a number of years.
I tore the Mikuni VM carb that was on there down and found it to be pretty much junk so I bought a Flat Slide carb for it. I had to go through the wiring and put a new ignition switch on it. Wiring still needs some help, but got it to the point where she would fire.
Put fresh oil and gas in it and it started on the third kick and actually ran okay. Adjusted the pilot and air mixture and got a decent idle but still may need to play with jet size there...I bought 6 different pilot jets so have some to play with.
I'm quite excited...motor sounds great and no smoke (PO said rebuilt 1000 miles ago from the sound of it I think that is correct).
Heres a pic of the bike...I will try to upload a video of it running...camera not working right now.
