'Truth is a fickle jade'. As I was watching this video, I was remembering some of the things I have posted on Facebook. Saying I think Albert Einstein had things correct does not mean much coming from someone such as me. I am a very mediocre scientist. -

The meaning of life, two wheels, and handle bars, a bike that handles great in the tight twisties.
You need to get off YouTube Al and get working on your bike.

I still cannot look at it without feeling sick. I used to enjoy working on it. I think a lot has to do with how my mate's kids behaved at his funeral. I wanted to speak for him, but I couldn't. It was just bloody horrible. My mate was never married, but he had 3 kids. Their mother was somebody whom I usually avoided talking to - she was extremely depressing. Another of my mates used to work on his bike in their shop. He said 'I don't mind her, but I wish she would not talk to me'.

Ashley, you seem to have the perception that my Seeley 850 could be ridden on public roads. First gear would be enough to get me booked anywhere in Australia. It is the same thing as a BSA Gold Star with an RRT2 gearbox on steroids. For the first 100 meters from a stand still, it just lurches forward unless the clutch is slipped, then everything happens. Our speed limit is 100KPH - it will do more than that in first gear. On a race track, I get around the slowest corners, in second gear with the motor above 5,500 RPM. If you are ever coming south, I would try to meet you at Goulburn where you can experience it on a race track. Let me know a long way in advance, if you want to do that. I do not mind who rides my bike. I would tell you what to do with it. It is a bit different from many. Actually I think it is a bit of a joke that something so bad could be that good.

Al with all due respect I think Ash means get out a bike
Any bike and stop talking about it
There's blokes in my bike club that are a fair bit older than you that still sling a leg over
Admittedly as you say where you live is pretty boring to ride on the road but hey it's better than nothing mate

You can always change gear ratios, everything is possible Al and more fun being able to ride anytime of the year, as for thinking about death, life goes on I lost 2 good friends in the last 3 months, one younger than me and as I grew up he was my mate younger brother who got me into Nortons and Featherbed frames.
Al we are only here for a short time, enjoy it while we can, worrying about death and the loss of good mates, just get together with the other mates and talk about all the good times we had with our fallen friend, the other friend was my mate mother 93 she made it too I was 17 years old and turning into their driveway on my Honda trials bike but had to stop to give way to an oncoming car when I was hit from behind by a speeding car, was the start of my problems with my left knee, my mate's mum always brought up about that day when they took me away to hospital, but over the years I have lost a few good mates they all rode bikes but none never died while riding them, alcohol abuse and health problems and the big C, left way to young, but we never forget.
Just get back into your bike or another bike and enjoy life, I say, before it's too late.

Ashley

I hate watching YouTube videos of bikers riding with cameras, best to be doing the riding, seeing bikes and riders with a cameras mounted on their bike or helmet, I no need to look back on where I been or done, I just do it again another day and what's with these fools on adventure bikes who ride on the road standing up, they look so stupid, standing up while in the bush yes, but on the road what fools/tools they are, well that's my opinion anyway.

I don't get it either
I have seen some really weird shit over the years I can't be arsed with it myself
I don't really get the blokes that dress like power rangers on sports bikes
Or the blokes that ride Harley lookalike cruisers but at least they are out there doing what they are doing they don't bother me and as long as they aren't bothering sheep I don't care

It don't worry me what bikes people ride as long as its 2 wheels except scooters I don't class them as real motorcycles lol, if someone is broken down on the side of the road I will always stop to help no matter what bike they are on, but then that's just me and one day I might need help is the way I look at it.
Weird shit, man I could write a book on the shit I had seen in the 50+ years of riding lol.

I had a Ducati Multi Strada a while ago and used to frequently stand up on it, my mates thought I was posing until I pointed out I was simply trying to relieve the immense pain in my arse caused by the ridiculously uncomfortable seat !!
