Yep it's this Sunday! Great mix of people, ages, walks of life. For you old dogs, my best memory of this ride is a young thing in GoGo boots, white mini skirt throw her leg over a Moto Guzzi. And yes she had nickers on

It’s going to be in Raleigh,NC this weekend
Mike

I tried this once here in Copenhagen - I made the mistake of taking my Ducati bevel Sport. Never made it out of 3rd gear and spent several hours breathing in a lot of petrol and oil fumes while a horde of bikes trundled slowly from one location to another.

To do this event and enjoy it, one really needs a bike that likes traffic - I don't actually own any like this :-(

Yes, it's a "parade" mostly. Normally I avoid them but the cause is just.

I did it once in Oxford.
Same as you, constant stop start and 5 miles per hour.
I bloody hated it.
And my clutch was toasted by the end.
I’m happy to donate, but am not interested in the parade.

I'll be doing it this year on my Dunstall. 5th year for me. I don't like the parade aspect of it, either. We meet at a coffee shop in a cool old part of town. BS and kick tires for an hour. Once the ride starts, I make sure I'm at the tail end of the line. Eh, in case I have to duck off, and get a decent ride in. I'd make a piss-poor Shriner or club member. Anything more than three or four people on a ride is plenty for me. YMMV

Exactly, same here. More people = more faffing about !

Riding at the back of the DGR in case you wanna duck out is wise too.

When I did it, I was on an old bike, and towards the end as we approached some traffic lights, I realised that pulling the clutch lever in had no effect re decoupling the engine from the wheel! I went straight on instead of following the pack right. Fortunately, carrying on straight took me home !

I hope the three miles was by your choice not the bike. We completed 50 miles as a group in Lancaster PA

Did the DGR, approx 50km in and around Amsterdam today, fine weather, and approx 350 participants.
The ride was very slow, first and second gear most of the time, so it was a bit hard on the clutch.

My limit of pottering about. Bike was fine, wanted more than I was giving it. After three miles, I waved goodbye, and went a different direction.

Unseasonably hot inland, it was refreshingly comfortable near the ocean. An AMAZING museum upstairs at Cycles128.
My ride home took me by the best BBQ in MA...
