We swapped quite a few PM's over the years on all manner of subjects. He was a very intelligent (but humble) man.

I remember machining a double interference fit top hat adapter over 7++ years ago to suit a new speedometer drive for Roberts Norton Atlas.
No charge of course, but with my address needed on the international post paperwork, he used that to send me two very nice key rings (One Triumph, one Norton) which came as a very present surprise.
A good man for sure and will not be forgotten.

I removed the keys for a beauty shot.
Thanks again Robert.

Sorry to hear. Wish I had the benefit of meeting him in person. He was always so helpful , and straightforward in his responses with no nonsense. Anyone know, what was his profession?

Damn! Don't know how I missed his passing except that since packing up and moving 40 plus years of my life had me preoccupied through most of last fall. Had it not been for his post about funny deer hunting stories popping up I might still be in the dark. RIP Slick. I enjoyed your postings and observations very much and am grateful for the help you offered on the Atlas I assembled. May you have an eternity of smooth roads and fair weather.
