Tank Decals

Does anyone know where to get the Tank and sidecover decals that are black edged with gold? I'm repainting my 71 tank and the brochure for that year shows that style. All I can find are solid black. Prefer a US supplier if possible but will go UK if need be.

Any Andover dealer should have them. 06.1040 But there are decals and then there are decals. I tend to prefer the vinyl ones these days. Steadfast has a nice black one with the gold outline, and the outline is even thicker, so it stands out more. Usually with the sidecovers the decal is reversed, gold with black outline at least it is on mine. You'll have to look up those numbers, but you can probably also get black with gold outline for the covers and it depends on which type you want, the Roadster style, 750 or 850 too. I think Walridge has a list in their catalog, I'm sure Old Brits will have them too.

The real deal decal decals will have to be clear coated. Gasoline is very effective at removing them.

Thanks for the replies. I'll probably go with the Steadfast ones as I need to order a few bits from them anyway. The vinyl ones seem to work out for me. Easy to remove with a little heat if you change your mind.

I just received those stickers from Steadfast today and they have no instructions with them. Can you confirm if they are the type that you peel the backing off, then apply and burnish and then peel the top carrier sheet away?
