Does anyone have any experience with, or know if swept-back headers even exist, for a MKIII? With the long crankshaft pushing the alternator out so far, I fear the usual "cafe" stuff won't fit around the wide primary.

I posted this in hopes someone with some knowledge would chime in.

So, does anyone know if a swept-back system exists that will fit on a MKIII motor?

Thanks.

when i got my swept back pipes for my MKII from old britts they mentioned that what they carry was wide enough for a MKIII, apparently the MKI/II designed pipes were/are a bit narrower but they were "unavailable" -

they are viking pipes -

Commando Specialties carries a set of swept backs for the Commando. I installed them on a 850 Commando and it does look like there would be sufficient clearance to work on a MkIII. They are 1.5 inches which requires bigger mufflers, and of course it will require a jetting change.
