Hi all, just purchased an original interstate steel tank and unlike the fiberglass tanks I've had this one doesn't have studs up front where if mounts to the frame, obviously it must need bolts or studs and nuts of some kind, someone has told me though u can get a rubber thing with a stud protruding out each end and one end screws in the tank the other end a nut gets pug on to hold to frame and there's obviously rubber in between for cushioning. Does this sound right, or is it just a bolt with some rubber washers that dies the job? Thanks all!

Use rubber mounts like the ones that are used to hold the muffler brackets. They have a 5/16 stud on both ends and rubber in between.

Using a long stud and nuts is inviting a crack around the mounts in the tank. Jim
