I have no experience with MAP rods, but they look and have the same spec as my own rods (pictured)as well as Carrillo's
I use mine in my own bike of course, so the MAP rods are probably ok.

Hi Don,
I note that the MAP rods specify that there is no oil hole in big end. Is that the same with your and Carillo rods? Are there any negatives associated with no big end oil hole?

Thanks,
Ed

yep, same. general consensus is that its not needed, some even fit the bottom shell half to the top to block it off, others will chime in here , maybe Jim Comstock can enlighten us a bit more

tried to use a set of these but had bad results ,they tighned on the crank as pulled up
relieved them , in a machineshop, but did not trust them after a race or 2
still got them somewhere , looked like new when they came out of the engine
did like the looks of them that s why i bought them , have used std rods after and never broke one of those in a race , so why go to similar (alloy)?

oops just saw you are talking about STEEL conrods , the ones i had from them were definitely alloy , so my remark does not stand anymore

I can remember reading there were issues with MAP alloy rods, maybe thats when they ventured in to steel rods. I've not heard any issues with their steel rods until now.
