Hi, does any one know where I can get a chain and sprocket set for my 2015 951 sport commando?
after market, genuine or something I can modify/
Thanks
Tim

There was a recent thread with a similar query "Rear Sprocket and Cush Rubbers", scroll down a page or so.
Ollie Thiel at www.thiel-motorsport.de looks to be the best bet for factory parts at the moment.
Colorado Norton Works have front sprockets in alternative sizes.
Any bike shop should be able to source a chain.

Ollie Thiel from Thiel Motorsport has several boxes with rear and front sprockets.
Send him a mail to ask for prices and delivery times.

You have a 951 Sport, how does it run, is it slightly slower than the 961.?:D:D

Bit of an update on rear sprockets!

I had a call out of the blue yesterday from Talon. I had ordered front sprockets from them many moons ago and totally forgot. I had ordered two and one was ready....but the second would be 2 weeks away...so did I want the one they had shipped now? I said ship them both together, so they will give me another call when they are both done. Looks like Talon can supply again, but it's unclear if they will keep them on the shelf though.

Chain wise, it's not Norton specific. Manual says 525 chain, 106 links. That's what I ordered, and praise the lord, it fitted as well!

You said rear sprockets , and I wonder if the 50T will be available again as well ? But great to hear about the fronts too. I heard the price went up substantially , hope not .

Yep, I've ordered standard rears. I'm not sure where the fronts came from but Ollie at Theil motorsports has them.

Are you saying that TALON also has front sprockets again as well ? Besides the rears ? Sorry for the confusion , I am hoping now that Norton are back (fingers crossed) that Fronts and rears will be available again from TALON.

OK, to be clear, I have only ordered and only needed rear sprockets. They had no front sprockets when I asked months ago and since I got fronts from Theil, I never progressed the conversation with Talon. I will, however, ask and see what they say!

OK guys, more information. I spoke to a very nice lady called Val at Talon today (anyone's name who starts with a 'V' is great in my book!).

I have now paid for my black rear sprocket and it will be on it's way to me. They also have front sprockets. They had 3 in stock, so I nabbed one. The front sprocket part number is TG62052518, £20.84 plus the dreaded (this being shorted for the dreaded VAT@20% for our non-blighty members). Tell Val I sent ya and she said she would honor this price. They will happily ship anywhere. Even the US. They would entertain making a further batch, but would need a 25-30 unit commitment.

You can contact the lovely and very helpful val on:

Hi Vernon, I've added that part number to the "Alternate parts" thread. do you have the number for the rear by any chance?

I'll verify when the sprocket gets here, but I believe it's TR351 50 525, as that is the part number I quoted when I ordered months ago and is what is on my original sprocket

OK, thanks I'll add it for now Vernon, but please update if you get any further info.

I suggest that we start a list of us who will take a sprocket or two or more. Once we get a list we can pay pal the money our UK agent ? I will take three (3) . They will take orders directly to the US again. I hope Voodoo see this , he was looking for sprockets .

Hello Vernon , Any chance that the TCDR-1 cush drive rubbers will be available again ?

Guys, in these Covid dictated times, suppliers are much more willing to do "Group buys" so why not ask Talon what discounts they can offer? After all the cheaper they are, the more we will buy.

An example - This time last year I contacted Electronik Sachse as I wanted an ignition for my Morini. I happened to ask about group buys. Off the bat they offered 10% off for orders up to 10 units and 15% for over 10 just by asking. I got the Morini Riders Club on board and got everybody a good deal for a quality product and are now very happy.

So Vernon, as you seem to have developed a repour ;), would you have any objection in asking them?

Cheers,

cliffa.

Please count me in. Great idea. I’d like to be part of any group buys for the 961.
