Hi All
Are there parts available to rebuild the speedo hub drive,
My has worn away the alloy ring with the eccentric ring
It was working before stripping bike.
Cheers

No is the short answer.
You need to order a new one if the worm gear is gone. There is a thread here where they do a restoration but like I stated, if the worm gear is gone then buy new.
Cheers,

Gears look OK it just that 1/2 the alloy ring has gone,
I didn't think there where replacement parts
Cheers for reply

Does anyone know whether all the current manufacture speedo drives are Emgo?

Ed

That Fekid one shown is 2:1 ratio. Commandos are 15:12 or 1.25:1. It looks like they do sell the right one also.

yes they do , tho they showed the same pic for both uk made and imported , still wondering where they are made in UK ??
Just received one today. I don't know where they are made but the supplier is L F Harris. Does that mean anything to you Brits?

Ed

Thanks Trevor. Just placed an order.

Hopefully not the one that comes up at that link - wrong ratio, wrong hole size! You need a 11/16" hole and a 15:12 (1.5:1) ratio. Looks like the correct link is: https://www.feked.com/speedometer-gearbox-15-12-bsa-norton-triumph-models.html for the UK made version. Personally, I use the EMGO version - one of the few really good EMGO parts and costs less. Please double-check me on the hole size - quoted from my old brain!

A new Emgo drive came on my 850. Speedo went out at about 200 miles; no rotation at the speedo end of the cable, so I replaced the complete cable--still no rotation. Turns out the square drive does not properly interface with the squared cable protrusion. Is this a cable issue or an Emgo issue? I went for a good used drive from flea bay and have no more problems.

Greg. Here is a photo of my Emgo. It is indeed IMG_1859.JPG11/16", and 15:12 ratio. (1.25:1)

LF Harris is a well respected Triumph spares supplier, who sells to Trade customers. All the Harris kit I have bought has been good quality.

No. I bought the correct Commando version.

Thanks.

The Feked website lists the hole size as 3/4" for the version that corresponds to Commando part# 060627.

OK, I was wrong, but then, so is everyone else. Wassell says 11/16" for EMGO. Feked says 3/4" for EMGO and UK Made. The Bonneville shop sells both EMGO and LF Harris and they say 11/16". I just measured a rear spindle from a 72 Commando and the spindle is 9/16". Then I measured a guaranteed factory installed one and it's hole is 9/16". All those for sale would go on the spindle, but none would be centered correctly!!

The top hat spacer 06.7629 fits in the 11/16" drive gearbox hole.
The correct Commando drive gearbox is BG5330/171.

Hi Lab,
The gearbox I received from Feked is BG5330/168. I have not tried to fit it yet. Are you saying that they sent me the wrong gearbox?
