Does anyone know if South Bay Norton/Triumph is still in business? Have been trying to call them for months and can't get anyone to answer the phone.

That’s the $64K dollar question right now.
Matt Capri’s businesses (SouthBay Norton, Triumph Performance USA) appear to be defunct.
Although SouthBay is still carried on the Norton UK website as the US distributor.
No one has been able to make contact with Matt since last December.
Many Triumph customers who sent him their money and parts seem to be out of luck.

This weekend I’m going to my Norton dealer to see if he can contact Matt.
They used to be very good terms as of last year.

Avi and Co. were tight with Matt. Not too sure about Ben and Co. Makes me wonder....who's representing us??

Extremely disturbing for those he owes a lot of money to.... :( Anyone know how to track him down?

From the TriumphRAT Forum on 1/17/2017 - a user found the following on Yelp concerning Matt’s TPUSA business:

"The business has moved to 2312 Pacific Coast Highway. It has NOT CLOSED. The shop is around the corner in the back.”

Both of his websites: SouthBay Norton, and Triumph Performance USA are gone as well.
It would be nice if a forum member living in the LA area could stop by and see if Matt is actually there.

Rode by SBN yesterday, 3/24/17. It's GONE! The only thing left of SBN is the sign over the front door. The new Leasee is already remodeling the premises and he said SBN left no forwarding address or phone no.
I still have warranty issues, and it appears now it's never going to be resolved.

That's what I was concerned about.
I'll try to contact my dealer to see if he knows whether or not Matt is still the a Norton dealer.
I just checked the Norton UK site, and SouthBay is still listed as US Distributor.
I wonder if someone from the factory like Simon can verify that this is still the case?

Did you look "around the corner, in the back"?

Yes , That's what I would ask as well. But this really does seem kind of B.S. in a big way . Him just pulling anchor and shoving off seems rather piss poor. No links on the website , No forwarding , no nothing . It seems telling . Matt is getting up there in age , he probably wants to retire I guess . Just say so !

I went around to the back, and the back is gone.I live 15 miles from former SBN , wich down sized in early 2016. It went from 2 store front Units to a 1 store front and a small unit in the rear building. The store front is on PCH in high rent area.

Weird, they started out as a MAJOR Triumph dealer.

I wonder what went wrong?

...at least I got a T-shirt from them for lending Sir Alan Cathcart (riding with/for them on a Thruxton) my starter rollers at Bonneville in 2008...

Certainly doesn't sound good for Triumph & Norton folks in Cali...

There are quite a few Triumph dealers in California. South Bay was one of the many. They lost or dropped the Triumph brand some time ago.

Hi Guys,

Any warranty issues that you feel a dealer can not address, please email Kevin French on warranty@nortonmotorcycles.com or PM on this forum and we'll make sure its taken care off.

Simon

Hi:

According to the folks at Westminster Indian, South Bay Norton is gone. And, according to them, they are now the importers for Norton. They are located in Westminster, Ca. Check their website. I was there yesterday. Nice people, nice facility.

Actually IMOC is listed as just a dealer, not as the US Distributor for Norton.
