I'll probably could get sued under the copyright laws, but I think the owners will be understanding. I had a very bad childhood - my bikes were always cafe racers - usually hotted up Triumphs, and I love that style of bike. I couldn't ride one on public roads these days - I need to keep my licence. But if I can inspire others to build these monsters, I will do whatever it takes. They would have to be the best fun !

I stopped at a light, some teenage boys called out "cool cafe racer!" lol, full turn sigs, US high bars and all. I was happy they at least were somewhat INSPIRED by a motorcycle...

Definitely liked it.....what's not to like..thanks for putting it together and posting it.

It's a bit of a hobby with me. I've scratching around finding old video tapes of Australian road racing, and trying to put as much of our history as possible up on Youtube. It is about generating enthusiasm, and letting the kids know what has really happened in the past. Some stuff is almost impossible to find. There is virtually nothing which shows either Ron Toombs or Ken Blake racing - they were both at the top. Ron was killed at Bathurst, Ken at the IOM. The cafe racer thing is pretty fundamental, they are what all the tearaways used to ride. We used to give them a really good thrashing, usually got chased by the cops. They were fun days, and I don't believe they will come again. I just hope some of the guys still continue to build cafe racers and maintain the tradition.

Thanks for the video. Great stuff!

When I was a kid, growing up in the 70s. all my buddies were into Harleys and choppers. Somehow I got a hold of a Classic bike magazine from the UK. I was hooked. There were real bikes going around corners in a far away island called Man. I had to have a cafe type bike and it had to be British. My Triumph Trophy 250 fit in with my limited finances. It was a love hate relationship with a total loss electrical system (you could ride until it stared to miss and then you ride like hell to get home before the battery went dead.) and eventually a dropped valve. It did have drag bars (I had clubman bars but they smashed my fingers painfully on the tank during low speed turns. It was not fast and it was not reliable but it was my magic carpet and it took me on my first motorcycle adventures. Adventure is want motorcycling is all about.
