just got back, a great time as usual (on rides run by the BSA Owners Club of northern California)

Thanks for the pics. Is that a P 11 in your first pic? (If I had been paying closer attention attention to BillT, I would know what model of hybrid it is!). Are the front and back brakes the ones that were also fitted to other Matchless models, such as the single cylinder scramblers? I remember also seeing them on a friend's AJS Lightweight 350, but maybe they were non-standard on that model.

Also, what model is the neat BSA in the background? Customised or factory original?

The BSA is not stock, it is an A10 650 that someone has thrown a Goldstar Seat, scrambles tank and fenders on, or tried to cop the Catalina scrambler look anyway.

The Hybrid in front is a P11 and it has Matchless hubs but for this model AMC turned the the fins off the middle of the hub and left off the hubcaps, which probably saved a whole quarter of a pound off the combined weight of the standard hubs until they filled up with mud, eyewash.
