I have used Solvol, on and off for 50 years and recently finally finished a tube I’ve owned for many, many years.

On opening my latest new tube I’m a tad disappointed that the consistency is markedly different to what I’ve been used to

The old tube was a firm ‘toothpaste’ like cream. The new one was initially very liquid and after getting rid of the first squirt or two it is now like a runny cream. Has there been a change in formula? Or have I been unfortunate getting a duff tube?
 
Bought 3 tubes 25 yrs ago , still using first opened , it is as you describe your original , not opening another tube until first is gone , prolly leave whatever left to my son 😎
 
Wait till you get to the dry, powdery stuff at the end of the tube.
 
I'd say this tube has passed its use by date :)

The first inch or so was all very watery gloop, now I’m down to the good stuff thankfully.
 
Is that similar to Threebond 1184?
