I fitted a new 99 link IWIS chain before I went on the NZ rally. It has done 1800 miles and has not needed to be adjusted. I had been using Tsubaki before this and would have adjusted it at least once in that mileage. I bought what I thought was a lifetimes worth of chains from Andy, and offered them to Norton owners in nz as well. Looks like I may have to live a long time to use them all up.[ I like that idea ] The Tsubaki was well and truly stuffed at 5000 miles.

Thanks, there are more and more riders liking the chain and there really is no need for
"heavy duty" chain on any bike. One guy in the States wanted to hang the iwis chain on
his wall because it looked so nice.

It is a shame that owners have been led by nose regarding chains and a big shame that
I only do talks on chains to clubs in UK as there is a whole load of bullshit out there.

For those thinking I am in it for the money think on as nobody could make a fortune from
just selling bike chain. My sales of automotive chains to the "race" engine builders subsidises
the bike side, and yes I can t spell.

When you are used to the rear iwis and trust then try the Merc duplex on the primary.

I sure like knowing the Iwis Cam chain is in there, along with Comnoz's chain tensioner.

Big believer in the Iwis chains...I too have experienced the lack of stretch...

I am not really sure what brand of chain I have on my Norton right now. It is a Japanese one that I bought at a swap meet that I think was surplus from a shop that went out of business. It is nothing special. It is not an O ring or X ring chain. It is just a standard one. I have around 10,000 miles on it though. It is still not worn out. What I do that makes it last a long time, is at least once a year I boil it in a mixture of paraffin wax and gear oil. This mixture not only lubricates the chain very well, but I think it also seals out the dirt that normally gets between the links. I have a can of this mixture that I have been using for this purpose for about 20 years. Sometimes it gets a bit dry looking so I add a bit more oil. You just melt it, soak the clean chain in it for a while and then remove the chain while it is all still hot, letting the excess drip back into the can. In between I keep the chain lubed with chain wax or one of the similar chain lubes that go on thin and then thicken up.

I have had several chains that I used on my Triumphs for over 15,000 miles.

Tri any chain treated that way will last.

The only problem is that some Commandos and other brit bikes often need single
links such as 99 links and these links are just not available for Jap chains.

I sell a graphite boil in grease from Putoline.

I dont know how to post pics but breakers that push the pin through the chain will
be broken by the iwis as it has a shouldered pin best use the "Renold" type hand breaker
