I have silicone Dot 5 brake fluid in my bike and was wondering what the fluid replacement frequency should be - so asked the Penrite technical line and their response was:

Thanks for your inquiry, as Silicone Brake Fluid does not absorb moisture there is no set replacement schedule. We suggest following the manufacturers service schedule for replacing Brake Fluid.
Kind Regards

It's not hydroscopic but water does get in and collect in the lowest point causing corrosion in that spot so worth changing every few years.

I've had Dot 5 in mine for 6 years and never touched it. Plus if it leaks onto paint, it won't harm it.
