As my frame is stripped.I thought it might be a good idea to do this mod. However,I notice www.oldbritts.com do not ship outside of USA.
Anyone of us worthless Europeans, have any idea where I can source one?

Ah ok.So then ill lose the centre stand brackets too?

As far as I'm aware the original crosstube and centre stand brackets can be left in place unless you intend to convert it to the later cradle mounted stand?

Also note that the front crosstube serves as the frame location (a hole) for the later side stand spring.

Sorry i dont get this.Ive one crosstube. Are you saying to use the later crosstube and not remove original?
My thoughts were; Remove existing s/stand and cross member tube. Then replace both with later units?

Yes, if you also intend to fit a cradle-mounted centre stand then the original rear tube can be removed.

Great thanks.Im not going to refit centre stand anyway. So its just a two job process.Plus it will remove the centre stand pivots, that would only bug me for being there, but not being used!

I did this mod. to my bike. Not realising there was a crosstube available, I made my own.

Although my bike already had the cradle-mounted centre stand fitted by a P.O., I intended to leave the old crosstube in place as a memento.

However, when the bike was reassembled, the old crosstube interfered with the cradle. It hadn't done that before the rebuild. So I had to remove it post-rebuild.

I can only assume that the fitting of new isolastics had something to do with this phenomenon, if that makes any sense.

I have just cut off the earlier rear cross member & main stand brackets Welded in the front cross member & side stand support bracket
real easy job
