Hi All.
As NOC Records says, the bike "dates from June 1971 and went new to Fabretti of Italy. It was a Street Scrambler and it's colour was Tangerine."

Greetings from Italy.

Thanks for the restoration of that beautiful bike. Enjoyed the pictures.

Fantastic. That's a lot of work captured in a few pics.

How long did this project take to complete?

Hi.
Ten hours for dismount.
One month for the parts all ready (painture, zinch, chrome, reboring, parts order, etc.).
30 hours for remounting (alone).
2200 euro spent.
Ciao

Piero, you did a good job on that bike, and a quick one also. I have spent almost 3 years on the restoration of my Benelli.
Easier to get the parts for Nortons than for Benelli's.

Hi,
i know.
I was wayiting six months to find the free wheel for my 1985 Ducati MHR!!!!
The SKF bearing arrived from Argentina (from a retired Cagiva dealer as a part of a "Elefant 650"!!!!).
Sorry, but with english bikes is more easy to find the parts you need than italian one.

Great job Piero.

Any idea why the rear of the timing case had been cut off?

Stephen Hill
Hi.
Your is the question!
I cannot understand why.
There is no reason.
But i have a good alu welder and a case to cut.

Great job, well done.
How common are Commandos in Italy, or any other British bike generally ?

sam

Nicely done, Piero. I've always liked the look of the SS.

Ken

Good job Piero.

Just a minor point, but I think the headlamp brackets are fitted incorrectly (upside down on the wrong side)?

Hi Les.
If you have right (and you are always in right) all my bikes have the incorrect position of the headlamp brackets!!!!!
Sorry, but i will leave in this way.
Sure the next bike will have the right position.

How many Commandos have you got now?

We see many Commandos in the photos but don't always know who they belong to?

That is a really nice bike Piero .... you are a very good restorer and fast .... I have been working on and riding mine for many years now .... still not as good looking as your new SS .... thanks for the photos , you made it look easy ...
