Hi all...

My first post here. Recently purchased a '71 Roadster. Been looking for a nice, unmolested Norton for some time, and came into one earlier this year. Finally picked up the bike a couple of weeks ago and now sorting and servicing some miscellaneous tidbits.

One thing that has me a bit stumped is the topic of crankcase breathers. Seems there are several options, but I can't determine conclusively, which way to go on this, other than the setup from CNW. The price is not the issue, but I am not up for dismantling the engine, presently, to install a breather setup.

So, what say you? What works great, and does the job, without having to do open heart surgery on the motor?

I'm sure I'll have other questions, as I go along. Each new (well, new to me, anyway) bike is a learning experience.

Thanks!

Gooday RocketMoto,

Can we get some pics of the motor and serial number. This will determine what you currently have. Are you racing or street ?

A reed type that connects directly into the crankcase is going to give the best result.

Adam-I installed one of Comnoz's breathers on my 71 last year and am very pleased with it. If you want to see it up close I'm in Hillsboro NH, right up the road from you.

I am a believer too. I also show it off whenever I can! Minimized leaks and it drains the sump immediately after I start the bike up.
