Series 2 clutch center

One of the weak spots on the Interceptor is the clutch. Right now Im dealing with wear more specifically the clutch center
where the slots get beaten. Nobody I can find offers new centers. Is there a source I havent found? Failing that is there
anybody, preferably stateside, who will weld up and reslot? Series 2 this is.

No no. The center uses slots to drive the plates which have ears. The slots are beaten by the ears and vice versa. So I need to
square up the slots. The only way I can think of is to weld the area then recut but that is beyond my ability as I have neither welder
nor machine tools. I suppose they were broached back in the factory.
The current workaround is to install a BNR clutch complete for either chain or belt. I have a BNR on my Commando and it works well just
that the cost will get your attention: about 1k USD!

Burtons does the outer, but it's my understanding that no one makes an inner. I redid the slots on mine (mk1 style) via hardwelding and grinding, but the slots on the 2 are too small/thin for my tools. I'd also be worried about deformation due to heat from hardwelding with such thin slots. You would likely need (at a minimum) to pull apart the inner hub by grinding the rivets, pulling the backing plate, and the journal bearing off (they're all separate pieces). so that someone could cut it. Fly cutting with a carbide tool would be a reasonable (albeit time consuming option) that could be done on a home mill.

Newby's replacement kits are one of the only options other than running a suzuki clutch or other japanese clutch as a few people have done (it's a fair bit of fab work).

Burton does the outer and the fibre plates but nobody does the metal plates. Im puzzled why the fact that nobody does the centers when it is entirely possible that every S2 existing day needs a new one. What good is the splined outer when you are left with a knackered center?
I guess the BNR is the only sensible, if expensive, option.
We can talk about the sad gearbox some other time. Same situation, same solution options.
