Does anyone know of a source for the rubber pads that are used under the seat to buffer the bottom of the seat from the fender / frame? They attach by inserting the peg like part into holes. I have uploaded a picture of one. It is from a '72 Interstate seat and I believe there are supposed to be 10 of them used.

Grainger or McMaster Carr usually have rubber bumpers like this. I've also seen them at the local True Value Hardware near me.

I got a package of something close to original from McMaster-Carr for much less money. $2.40 each is highway robbery. The nub that goes into the seat base was slightly smaller so I used some RTV to hold them in. (I had to do that to some of the stock ones also to keep them in place.)

...and the McMaster-Carr part number is - ???

I agree, $2.40 is steep, and the OP stated needing about 10 pieces - that's $24 plus shipping. i'd have a tough time parting with $30 for seat bumpers.

Joe.. Found the remainder of my bag of 25. P/n is 9310K124 from 2013. They are described as for 1/8" hole size but they are fatter than that and there is a narrow nipple-like end that gets snipped off.

Currently $9.88 / pkg 25 plus the shipping - usually high!

Highway robbery - agreed.

The P.O. of my seat must have thought so too, as my seat has strips of rubber glued to the base. Actually they probably give more support.

Cheers,

cliffa.
